The death of a baby is one of life’s most devastating experiences.  It leaves parents feeling shocked, disorientated and heartbroken, with debilitating grief and a profound sense of isolation.  On June 27, 2018 Missy and her husband Julien held their beautiful daughter James for the first and last time.   Sweet baby James had several heart defects in addition to Miller Dieker Syndrome, an extremely rare disorder that causes fatal seizures in infants. Her heart stopped in utero, and she was delivered two days later.  In honor of James and all babies gone too soon, we present to you An Evening for Life.

About the Event

An Evening for Life is a philanthropic, breathtaking theatrical show in support of Empty Cradle, a Southern California non-profit dedicated to providing pregnancy and infant loss support, education, and remembrance.  Cirque du Soleil performers and San Diego’s finest singers and dancers have donated their talent and time to take us on a journey through grief and healing.  This powerful spectacle will showcase love and loss and all it encompasses.

About Empty Cradle

Empty Cradle is a non-profit organization serving San Diego and Riverside County area parents who have lost a baby to miscarriage, stillbirth, infant death, TFMR, or SIDS.  Volunteer parents have offered emotional support, friendship, and community education since the group was organized in 1982.  Empty Cradle offers support through multiple monthly meetings, telephone support, a lending library, memory box programs for local hospitals, and In-Service meetings for the healthcare community.  By reaching out to others they achieve their stated goal: To comfort the grief of an aching heart and ease the pain of an empty cradle.
